Alabama Affected Statutes: 17-5-4; 17-5-8; 17-5-9
Act 2024-104 was passed by the Legislature in the 2024 regular session, providing that:
"A candidate running for municipal office is exempt from the filing requirements of Sections 17-5-4 and 17-5-8, Code of Alabama 1975, unless and until the candidate receives contributions or makes expenditures in excess of one thousand dollars ($1000)."
